Getting from the visions in your head to a set of blueprints is a critical step in realizing your dream of a new home, a new addition, or a remodel.  Often it involves multiple trips back to the drawing board as you and our designer hone in on the best solution for your needs and desires.

Design work is a balancing act wherein our designer aspires to adopt your vision, meet your budget, achieve compatibility with your site and/or present structure, comply with local and international residential building codes, and satisfy structural engineering requirements.  That’s a tall order.

What makes ALLWAYS QUALITY CONSTRUCTION equal to the design task?  EXPERIENCE!  Because we’re experienced designers and builders, we know building codes; we know if and when professional engineering services are required; we know building materials and can offer you lateral alternatives or price options to meet your budget and timeline.  We successfully work with the building officials in our region.  More importantly, we have a well of creative ideas to draw upon and we’ve implemented our ideas for 20 years in the field.

When your designer and builder are one in the same, you gain the advantages of continuity, integrity, and flexibility.  If the person building your project also designed your project, you have a contractor with a shared vision, as opposed to a contractor with a set of instructions.  Should you request a design change once construction is under way, your designer-contractor is intimate with your design process, therefore changes may proceed more smoothly and potentially cost you less.

Absentee clients - ALLWAYS QUALITY CONSTRUCTION has several satisfied clients who own property in the Columbia River Gorge and maintain full-time residences elsewhere in the country.  We’ve built new homes and done remodeling jobs for absentee clients with great success and will be happy to provide references.

Our experience at working with property owners who don’t live here in the Gorge has taught us what we need to do to overcome “long distance” issues.  We will work diligently to keep you abreast of all facets of your project through digital photography, email, fax and phone.  Alternatively, you may access your personal, pass code-protected location on our website to view details of your project and contract anywhere in the world.

The inevitable question:  “What is my project going to cost?”  Some consumers get an estimate for construction projects and the writhe as the costs exceed that figure and continue to creep up.  They moan, “What can we do?  We’re already more than half way into it – we’ll never find another contractor now!”

ALLWAYS QUALITY CONSTRUCTION prefers to do a feasibility study for new construction and large remodels and deliver you a firm quote.  We believe it is far better for you to know, right from the start, what the job is going to cost – ALL it’s going to cost – than to be nickel and dimed to a bitter and regretful end. You get a quote and that’s what you pay, unless of course, you exercise your prerogative to make changes to the plan.
